I love your stories. You're so witty, and your attention to details makes the reader really feel like we're there experiencing the weight of the costs and the (wasted?) extravagance for tiny food on small plates.

I feel like I've learned that lesson many times over already, hoping that this expensive restaurant will be different, but in the end knowing I've thrown away good money for an experience rather than a meal!

I have been written since 2020 but had no reach with FB and Instagram, so glad I discovered Substack!

Generally speaking I also feel that the quality of food in restaurants decreased. A few years ago, if you picked a restaurant above the average (not Michelin, just "normal" restaurants), you could mostly expect good quality. Nowadays everything is more expensive but the price does not match what you get. It seems to me that this is particularly true in cities, while in smaller places you can still find a few gems, in the country I usually visit, such as Italy and Spain.
